The branch of Sberbank in India received permission from the Reserve Bank of India to create a large IT division, the credit institution said. Sberbank’s data center will be located in Bangalore, India’s third largest city.
Anatoly Popov, deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, said that the hub in Bangalore will provide the technological component of the work of the branch of the credit institution in India and will be engaged in “the development and implementation of new digital products for its clients.” In the future, up to 200 IT specialists will work in this division.
A branch of Sberbank has been operating in New Delhi since 2010. The office in Bangalore will work only in the field of information technology development.
