Sberbank: the volume of consumer loans issued in August hit a record since the beginning of the year

Sberbank in August recorded a record volume of consumer loans since the beginning of 2022, said the first deputy chairman of the bank, Kirill Tsarev. According to him, demand has grown against the backdrop of lower rates and easing requirements for borrowers.
As Mr. Tsarev clarified, the portfolio of individuals has grown by 5.1% since January. “The drivers are credit cards (+20%) and mortgages (+7.3%),” Sberbank’s first deputy chairman told reporters on the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum (quoted by TASS).
National Credit Bureau at the end of August reportedthat the volume of consumer loans issued in Russia decreased by 46.6% – to 1.35 trillion rubles. At the same time, according to the United Credit Bureau, delinquency in the consumer lending segment is growing, and by the end of the year its level may increase by 16-18%.
