Sberbank has doubled the validity period of Mir bank cards to 10 years, said First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Kirill Tsarev. He clarified that for debit accounts the changes came into force in September, and for credit accounts they will apply from October 3.
As Mr. Tsarev noted, this will affect all debit and credit cards of the bank based on the Mir system, including payment stickers. He added that if the card is damaged ahead of schedule, it will be reissued free of charge. “Our SberCard is a wear-resistant product that is designed for at least 10 years of uninterrupted operation,” he assured in an interview with RIA Novosti at the EEF.
At the end of July, Sber’s net profit according to RAS amounted to 130.4 billion rubles, for seven months of 2023 – 858.2 billion rubles. In July, Sber issued a record volume of loans – 2.9 trillion rubles. At the end of July, bank shares updated maximum from February 18, 2022.
