Sberbank increased its net profit under RAS in January by 4.6% – Kommersant

In January 2024, Sberbank’s net profit (MOEX: SBER) according to RAS increased by 4.6%, to 115.1 billion rubles. In the same period last year, the figure was at the level of 110.1 billion rubles. This follows from the published financial reporting.

Return on equity in January 2024 was 20.7%. Individual funds amounted to 22.2 trillion rubles, having decreased by 1.9% over the month, which corresponds to seasonal dynamics. Funds from legal entities increased by 4.5% over the month, to RUB 11.4 trillion. Compared to January last year, the volume of funds of individuals in the bank increased by 27.1%, legal entities – by 36.3%.

The housing loan portfolio increased by 0.4% over the month, to RUB 10.2 trillion. At the same time, the volume of mortgage issuance in January amounted to 151 billion rubles. The consumer loan portfolio, on the contrary, decreased by 0.1%, to 3.8 trillion rubles, due to an increase in rates. At the same time, 188 billion rubles were issued in January. consumer loans. The share of overdue debt at the end of the month was 2%. Operating expenses for January 2024 increased by 20.1% year on year, to RUB 60.3 billion. The income ratio was 22.5%.

In 2023, Sberbank’s net profit according to Russian accounting standards (RAS) grew almost five times, to a record 1.493 trillion rubles. (versus RUB 300 billion of net profit under RAS in 2022). The Ministry of Finance included in the draft budget dividends from Sberbank in the amount of 50% of profits. German Gref expects positive business dynamics in 2024.
