Sberbank and VTB, after the decision of the Central Bank to raise the key rate to 8.5%, announced that they would increase the maximum deposit rates to 10%.
First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Kirill Tsarev said that the rate will increase from July 24.
On July 21, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia following the results of the scheduled meeting raised key rate to 8.5%. Previously, it was at the level of 7.5% per annum, the indicator has not changed since September 2022. Today’s rate hike turned out to be more serious than the market expected (it was assumed that the rate could be raised only up to 8%).
