The German software manufacturer SAP will close access to its cloud services to clients from Russia from March 20, follows from a letter to clients from SAP CIS (Russian subsidiary of SAP), a copy of which is available RBC.

According to the publication, the letter asks users to download data from the SAP cloud by March 20 to avoid their loss. SAP CIS expressed its readiness to immediately negotiate on the early termination of the agreement on the provision of cloud services.

SAP supplies process management systems, such as logistics or production. In Russia the company had about 1.5 thousand clients. SAP’s former clients include Gazprom, Sberbank and Norilsk Nickel. The manufacturer stopped providing them with services after the imposition of sanctions against these companies.

In June 2022 SAP announced about the decision to completely leave the Russian market by the end of the year. In April, the company announced its refusal to work with Russian clients and also stopped providing cloud services. The company estimated losses from leaving the Russian and Belarusian markets at €350 million. In September 2023, SAP notified partners and clients about ceasing support for their solutions in Russia.

In December 2022, people from the Russian division of SAP established Lab SP LLC in the Russian Federation. The company was engaged in technical support and correction of failures in the operation of SAP systems for Russian clients. As Kommersant found out, Lab SP plans to introduce its own CRM and ERP systems to the Russian market. The company estimates the cost of developing the latter at 250 million rubles.
