Sales of tinctures in Russia increased by 24.6%

From January to September 2023, sales of liquor and vodka products with a strength of over 25% (tinctures, bitters, etc.) increased compared to the same period in 2022 by 24.6% to 9.9 million decaliters, sales of cognac increased by 10.5% to 9.7 million decaliters. In general, sales of alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content above 9% increased by 3% to 84.2 million decaliters. Despite the increase in sales of alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content above 25%, over the nine months, 88.4% less of such drinks with an alcohol content of up to 25% were sold – only 174,000 decaliters.

Sales of low-alcohol drinks increased by 17.5% to 12.9 million decaliters. Russians also began to buy liqueur wines and grape-containing drinks with ethyl alcohol more often: from January to September, 881,000 dal (+75.2% year-on-year) and 1.23 million dal (+33.2%) were sold, respectively. At the same time, sales of grape-containing drinks without ethyl alcohol fell by 80.3% – to 667,300 decaliters.

In addition, over nine months, Russians purchased 41.9 million dal of grape wines (+5.9%) and 13.4 million dal of sparkling wines (+9.9%). Sales of fruit alcoholic products increased by 18.2% to 9.1 million decaliters.

Previously the Ministry of Finance offered from January 1, 2024, index the minimum prices for cognac, brandy, vodka and alcoholic beverages. According to the draft order, the minimum retail price of 0.5 liters of vodka will be 299 rubles. instead of 281 rubles, brandy (and other products made from grape, wine and other materials) – 403 rubles. instead of 375 rubles, and cognac – 556 rubles. instead of 517 rub. The minimum selling price for brandy will be 311 rubles. (289 rubles previously), for cognac – 427 rubles. (397 rub.). Wholesale prices for brandy will increase to 327 rubles.
