Sales of cardiac drugs increased by 16% compared to 2021

Retail sales of drugs for cardiovascular diseases in the first five months of 2023 in monetary terms increased by 16% to RUB 83.4 billion. compared to the same period the year before last, 2021. Such data was provided to Vedomosti by the analytical company DSM Group. Comparing these figures with the first five months of 2022 is considered “incorrect” by both DSM Group and other market participants due to the rush demand after the start of SVO in Ukraine (then, from January to May, cardiological drugs were sold for 94 billion rubles).

The increase in sales of drugs that are prescribed to patients with heart disease was confirmed this year by other players involved in the sale of such drugs. For example, according to the Zdravcity marketplace, in the period from January to May 2023, compared to the same months of 2021, the growth in sales of drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases was 17% in ruble terms and 41% in kind, the general service director Boris Popov. He did not provide absolute values. In Uteka, in the first five months, the sale of cardiac drugs increased by 282 million rubles, i.e., by 684% more than in 2021, said Kirill Yakobenko, CEO of the online pharmacy. In Pharmacy Chain 36.6, the number of packages of medicines for cardiovascular diseases sold increased by 7% over the same period to 6.5 million units.
