The head of the Ministry of Energy, Nikolai Shulginov, said that proposals for retaliatory steps to introduce a ceiling on prices for Russian oil are now in the government. They will be formalized by presidential decree, said Mr. Shulginov.
“A document is being prepared in the form of a presidential decree. After its release, we will publish what decision was made, ”the minister said on the air of Channel One (quote from TASS). Of the proposals for response measures, a decision will be made on one or two of them, Nikolai Shulginov answered the question about the three options being discussed.
On December 5, the price ceiling for Russian oil introduced by the EU and G7 countries came into force. The maximum price within the restrictions is $60 per barrel. December 8, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov informedthat Russia is finalizing its response to the price ceiling.
