The portfolio of Russia’s weapons orders remains at the level of $50 to $55 billion, Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia, said during the Army-2023 military-technical forum.
“The portfolio of Russian orders for the past few years has been at a consistently high level and amounts to $50-55 billion. Small fluctuations in its level are justified by the dynamics of work with our partners — signed and executed contracts,” said Mr. Shugaev (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Dmitry Shugaev noted that among the total volume of Russian military products (MP) going for export, about 50% is the share of military aircraft. “Russia is present in almost all areas of military exports: land, sea, armored, aviation equipment, automated control systems, electronics and communications. Traditionally, military air equipment is in the lead – both in terms of the volume of the portfolio of orders and in terms of exports, the share of which is on average about 50%, ”he said (quoted by TASS).
The head of the FSMTC also added that there is great interest in air defense equipment. According to him, over 20% of orders fall on the share of this type of equipment. About 15% more is accounted for by equipment for the ground forces, and the rest is equipment for the naval forces and other products, Mr. Shugaev specified.
The fact that the portfolio of export orders for Russian weapons is $ 50-55 billion, Dmitry Shugaev informed in May. Then he clarified that Russia cooperates with more than 100 states of the world for the supply of weapons. According to him, cooperation is developing not only with states “sharing the views and foreign policy of the Russian Federation”, but also with countries “under serious Western influence.”
