Russian citizens spent about $20 billion on outbound tourism in 2022, said Assistant to the Russian President Maxim Oreshkin. According to him, over the past year many foreign companies have left the market, “freeing up space for Russian goods and services.”
“Now the same outbound tourism is about $20 billion in spending by our citizens by the end of 2022. Tourism and Russian cities still have a lot of room to move forward,” he said at the opening of the educational program “Hospitality Industry as a Driver of Urban and Regional Development” (quote from TASS).
As Mr. Oreshkin clarified, the authorities are regulating the tourism industry. “So that, for example, in the same hotels, check-in can be done without human intervention, thereby increasing the efficiency of the entire tourism infrastructure,” added the presidential aide.
In Russia, they are developing an analogue of the EGAIS for the tourism market – an “Electronic Tour”, which should contain all the information about the implemented tours, their cost and part of the personal data of tourists. Before a new attempt at its full implementation, the Prime Group company, associated with Rosatom structures, joined in its refinement.
