Russian “Transport of the Future” plans to produce drones for India

The Russian company Transport of the Future plans to jointly produce drones with Indian partner Sasaa Electronics Private Limited. About it reports “Kommersant”.
The companies signed an agreement on the development of the unmanned aerial systems industry in India in Dubai at the Dubai Airshow 2023. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are planned to be manufactured for cargo delivery and agricultural monitoring.
The start of large-scale assembly should start in 2024. It is planned that joint production will be able to occupy up to 25% of the local market by 2030. In the future, this could bring in up to $1.3 billion a year, media reports citing “Transport of the Future.”
“We are entering a new era of integrated UAS solutions that will take the country’s urban mobility and cargo logistics to a new level in full compliance with the principles of sustainable development,” commented Rakesh Goel, head of Sasaa Electronics Private Limited, on plans to assemble Russian drones (quote according to RIA Novosti). According to him, up to $10 million will be required as investments in production, since it is planned to use the existing production base.
If the project is successfully implemented, this will be the first entry of domestic UAV systems into the international market, RIA Novosti clarifies.
Transport of the Future LLC has been registered and has been operating in the Belgorod region since 2021. Production is also developing in the Samara region, where it was open Russia’s first regional research and production center for civil unmanned aerial systems.
