Russian Railways (RZD) in 2023–2025 will purchase Lastochka passenger electric trains from the Sinara group for 67.5 billion rubles. This is stated in the September materials for the draft investment program of Russian Railways for 2023-2025, which Vedomosti got acquainted with.
STM Holding (Sinara – transport vehicles) is indeed negotiating with Russian Railways on the supply of Lastochkas in 2023-2025. In particular, in 2023, it is planned to deliver 23 five-car electric trains,” a STM representative told Vedomosti. In 2021, Russian Railways bought 145 cars of Lastochka electric trains, in 2022 it is planned to purchase 28 trains, or 140 cars, of which the manufacturer has already delivered 18 trains, the representative of the state monopoly explained.
