“When developing the new concept, it was decided to maintain the traditional horizontal arrangement of beds opposite each other. At the same time, it became possible to increase the length of the shelves to 2 meters,” the report said.
The company added that in the new carriages they decided not to increase the width of the shelves and refused to install sinks in the compartments. The storage space was increased due to luggage racks above the berths. The compartment also has a locker for storing outerwear, individual lamps, sockets and USB connectors. The space is decorated in orange and light gray colors.
The company, as stated in the message, plans to replicate the design on all cars of the network. By the end of 2023, Russian Railways plans to receive 21 cars with an updated design.
