Russian pipeline gas exports fell by almost 30% in 2023

Gas consumption in the form of motor fuel in vehicles increased by 29.4%, to 2.2 billion cubic meters. Production of large-scale polymers decreased by 2.8% to 6.9 million tons. In 2022, this figure was 7.1 million tons.
According to the analytical company Kpler, January exports of Russian LNG fell slightly short of the record set in December and amounted to 2.9 million tons versus 3.17 million tons the month earlier. Of these volumes, 1.53 million tons went to Europe, 1 million tons to Asia, and the directions of the remaining shipments are still unclear. Kpler notes that most of the cargo from the Russian Federation in January went to Japan, Spain and France.
