Russian-owned mobile games publisher AppQuantum left Russia

Mobile games publisher AppQuantum, co-owned by Russians Igor and Dmitry Bukhman, announced that there are no legal entities affiliated with the company in Russia. Russian employees of the publishing house are relocated to Cyprus or to new offices in Armenia or Kazakhstan. The company stopped promoting its games in Russia and attracting Russian users immediately after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine on February 24th.
“The international publishing house has decided to expand its relocation program for employees who were still living in Russia to Cyprus and open additional offices in other countries such as Armenia and Kazakhstan. In Russia, there are no legal entities affiliated with AppQuantum,” says the message companies. The publisher also offered a remote work format for employees who moved to a country where AppQuantum does not have an office.
According to Forbes, the final owners of the publishing house are Pavel and Evgeny Maurus, as well as Igor Zavaruev. The company was founded in 2017 and is a spin-off of a performance marketing agency, which since 2015 has been developed by Russian Evgeny Maurus. By 2022, the publisher has released more than 15 mobile games.
In February 2022, Playrix, founded by Russian developers Igor and Dmitry Bukhman, became a co-owner of AppQuantum. A controlling stake remained with the publishing house.
The founders of Playrix moved their business from Vologda to Ireland in 2013 and emigrated to Israel in 2016. In April businessmen asked American Forbes does not call them Russian citizens.
