Russian investments in American government bonds increased to $30 million – Kommersant

In December 2023, Russia increased investments in its portfolio of American government bonds from $28 million to $30 million, as follows from data US Treasury. Moreover, in November 2023, the Central Bank talkedthat they cannot comment on the growth of investments in US government debt, since the Central Bank does not own US government bonds.
According to US Treasury statistics for December, the Russian portfolio consists of $27 million in long-term securities and $3 million in short-term securities (versus $25 million in long-term securities and $3 million in short-term ones in November).
First on the list of US debt holders is Japan. Its investments for the month rose to $1.138 trillion from $1.128 trillion in November. China remains in second place with $816.3 billion ($782 billion in November). In second place is Great Britain. Its investments rose to $753.7 billion from $716.2 billion.
