Russian gas supplies to Europe by the end of 2023 will be two-thirds lower than in 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said. Speaking about oil supplies, he said that Russia trades these raw materials mainly in rubles, yuan, dirhams and rupees.
“Russian gas is cheap and reliable. Yes, volumes have decreased. Nowadays significantly less is supplied than before. The volume will decrease by about two-thirds at the end of this year compared to 2021,” the Deputy Prime Minister said at Russian Energy Week in an interview with RT Arabic (quoted from TASS).
Alexander Novak also said that oil supplies have now stabilized, since the discount on Russian raw materials is $11-12 per barrel compared to the prices of the main brands. “We agreed with our friendly countries on new markets and on the participation of companies, so now there is a lot of competition for our product,” he added.
The International Economic Agency (IEA) in a report on the state of the global gas market, published on October 10, predicts a 65% drop in Russian gas supplies to the European Union by the end of 2023. In addition, agency analysts believe that Russian natural gas production at the end of the year may fall to a minimum since 2009.
