Russian composer Viktor Ekimovsky has died – Kommersant

Russian composer, musicologist, chairman of the Association of Contemporary Music Viktor Ekimovsky died at the age of 76. About it reported Union of Composers of Russia.

Viktor Ekimovsky taught at GITIS, participated in the creation of the radio program “Musical Globe”. His first author’s concert took place in December 1970. Since 1980, he has given concerts in Moscow, Baku, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Tallinn, Vilnius and Belgrade.

In 1990, Ekimovsky became one of the co-founders of the Association of Contemporary Music, an alternative composing organization focused on the musical avant-garde. He headed the organization in 1996.
