Truck carriers in 2023 may face a shortage of truck tractors for trucks in the Russian market. This was reported to Vedomosti in the logistics companies PEK, Trasko, GXO, as well as in specialized associations – the National Union of Experts in the Field of Transport and Logistics (SEL) and the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (ROAD). The problem was also confirmed by other market participants – FM Logistic, Eurotransexpedition, Globaltruck and the Monopoly.Online platform.
According to PEK estimates, the average demand of the domestic market for tractors is 25,000 units per year. By 2025, the demand will increase to 30,000 units. “The indicator is based on the volume of purchases of such equipment in Russia over the past 20 years,” Vadim Filatov, deputy director of PEK, explained.
