Russian airlines carried 53 million passengers as of July 16, Minister of Transport Vitaly Saveliev said on July 24 in the State Duma. “This year we plan to carry more than 100 million passengers. We have a plan of 101.2 million passengers. I think we will cope with this plan, taking into account the closed 11 airports,” he added (quoted by Interfax).
Earlier, at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the government, Savelyev reported that in the first half of the year Russian airlines served 47.5 million passengers, which is 18% more than in the same period in 2022.
