President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is buying back leased aircraft. At the same time, according to the president, the aircraft market in Russia is overloaded with foreign aircraft and it is necessary to develop our own production. By 2030, it is planned to produce over 1 thousand domestic passenger aircraft.
The president said that the state had disputes with companies that purchased too many foreign aircraft. “The process is ongoing – no one wants to lose money – so we buy back previously ordered and delivered aircraft, and they become the property of our companies. But we need to work on expanding our own production: we plan to produce over 1 thousand copies by 2030,” the president said during the “Results of the Year” after he was asked about the situation in aviation after the departure of Boeing and Airbus from the Russian market.
