Russia triples exports of steel semi-finished products to China in 2022

Russia increased the export of steel semi-finished products to China in 2022 by 3 times to 2.3 million tons, the export of these products increased by the same amount in monetary terms – up to $1.34 billion. This follows from the statistics of the General Administration of Customs of China, published on 20 January. The main commodity item in deliveries to the PRC is slab, which is used for the production of flat steel products.
The peak of deliveries of steel semi-finished products from Russia to China in 2022 was in July-October (from 252,000 to 464,000 tons per month). In November and December, deliveries were almost zero, according to the statistical data.
