Russia is going to build a thermal power plant in northern Afghanistan. A memorandum on this was signed a few days ago in Kabul. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov.
“Our business is still testing the Islamic financial regulations that the Taliban are implementing (the Taliban movement has been recognized as a terrorist movement in Russia and banned.— “b”), but does not tread on the spot. Just a few days ago, a memorandum on the construction of a thermal power plant in northern Afghanistan was signed in Kabul,” Dmitry Zhirnov said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
The day before, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoriev declaredthat after coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban did not fulfill any of the promises made to them, including not eliminating the threat of terrorist acts.
On February 8, Moscow hosted a meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of several countries on Afghanistan. Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that the situation in Afghanistan continues to “degrade rapidly.” According to him, this is not the fault of the Taliban.
