Russia no longer supplies weapons to states that supported sanctions and re-exported weapons to third countries. This was announced by First Deputy General Director of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov. According to him, the Russian defense industry is focused on meeting internal needs.
“Russia has ceased to conduct military-technical cooperation with states that, in bad faith – in violation of international law – engaged in unauthorized re-export of weapons to third countries. Cooperation with those who support unilateral sanctions against Russia has stopped,” said Vladimir Artyakov “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
As a Rostec representative said, Russia exports samples of Russian military products, modernized taking into account the experience of the military operation in Ukraine. “In essence, we are creating deferred demand for combat-tested products in order to load the capacity of the domestic defense industry, which will be freed up after the completion of the Northern Military District and the retrofitting of the Armed Forces,” he added.
According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, arms exports from Russia have declined over the past few years. From 2018 to 2022, arms exports decreased by 31%. India mainly buys Russian products. In May of this year the government introduced ban on the export of cartridges and cartridges from the country.
