The first two ships with Russian wheat as part of humanitarian aid went to Somalia and Burkina Faso. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev. Russian wheat will be sent to the Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Mali and Eritrea by the end of the year.
The arrival of two ships with Russian wheat of 25 thousand tons each in Somalia and Burkina Faso is expected in late November – early December of this year. “Ships to the Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Mali and Eritrea will be loaded with wheat in the near future and sent to these countries before the end of this year,” the minister said at the international exhibition and forum “Russia” (quoted from “Prime”).
In total, by the end of the year, Russia will deliver up to 200 thousand tons of Russian wheat to Africa free of charge. President Vladimir Putin decided to supply agricultural products to African countries free of charge. He announced this at the Russia-Africa summit in July this year.
