Russian oil companies, amid reduced supplies to Europe in 2022, have returned to markets they left several years ago, according to an Argus report dated November 10. Small batches of Urals were delivered in January-September 2022 to Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Cuba and Sri Lanka.
According to Argus, in the first nine months of 2022, Russian companies supplied 200,000 tons of oil to Sri Lanka, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, as well as 500,000 tons to Cuba. In early November, another tanker delivered 95,500 tons of Russian oil to the UAE, Bloomberg reported Nov. 14, citing vessel tracking data.
