Russia resumed oil supplies to Brazil after a two-year break

In September, Russia supplied Brazil with 84.4 thousand tons of oil worth $48 million. This is the first delivery in two years and the largest shipment in 13 years, reports “RIA News” with reference to data from Brazilian customs.
The last time Russia sent oil to Brazil was in August 2021. Then Brazil purchased 42.1 thousand tons of raw materials for $16.6 million. The September shipment was the largest since June 2010, when 117.8 thousand tons were delivered.
In September, Brazil imported 717.3 thousand tons of petroleum products from Russia for $593.8 million. The volume of supplies decreased by 22% compared to August, in monetary terms the supply decreased by 13%. The reduction occurred against the backdrop of the Russian government introducing a ban on the export of gasoline and diesel fuel on September 21.
