Russia is ready to supply up to 30 million tons of grain to the world market

As part of an agreement with the UN on the export of agricultural products, Russia is ready to supply up to 30 million tons of grain to foreign markets in the second half of the year. This is reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.

“Our country is one of the few in the world that this year will be able to show the growth of agricultural production in almost all areas. We will be able not only to completely meet domestic needs, but also to make a significant contribution to overall food security and help in the fight against world hunger. This will help support countries in need and will help stabilize the food situation in the world, ”quotes TASS ministry of agriculture statement.

Earlier today, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov declaredthat Moscow is demanding that the UN take additional measures to export Russian agricultural products as part of the “grain deal”. In particular, Mr. Ryabkov noted that it is necessary to provide reliable insurance for the reduction of freight and the admission of ships to the ports of the respective countries.

July 22 in Istanbul signed an agreement between Russia, Ukraine and Turkey with the participation of the UN on the creation of a corridor for the export of Ukrainian grain from the ports of Chernomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny. Then Russia and the UN signed memorandum for three years on the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers. The purpose of signing the document is to ensure unhindered supplies against the backdrop of anti-Russian sanctions. In July, the Ministry of Agriculture predicted grain harvest in 2022 at the level of 130 million tons.
