In July, Russia increased the export of diesel fuel from its seaports by 6% compared to June, to about 3.8 million tons, Reuters reports, citing data from traders and Refinitiv. Retired primary refining capacities at refineries decreased by 37.3% to 2.458 million tons.
Turkey remains the key destination for the export of diesel fuel and gas oil, deliveries in this direction in July amounted to about 1.3 million tons. Shipments of diesel fuel from the Russian Federation in the direction of Brazil reached a record, exceeding 700 thousand tons, mainly exports go there from the Baltic port of Primorsk. About 0.66 million tons of Russian diesel fuel was sent to African countries, mainly to Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Ghana and Libya.
In addition, about 270 thousand tons of diesel fuel were shipped in the direction of the ship-to-ship (STS) offshore transshipment near the Greek port of Kalamata. Traders believe that part of the cargo from there is sent to the countries of Asia and the Middle East. Another 200,000 tons of diesel fuel exported in July do not yet have a destination.
As Kommersant reported, the export of diesel fuel from Russia in the first half of the year, despite the EU embargo and the price ceiling, increased by 11% in annual terms. Turkey was the biggest buyer, followed by Saudi Arabia and Brazil in a clear second place. The Russian Federation is also actively developing deliveries to Africa, which already accounts for more than 20% of exports.
