The head of the Russian Ministry of Finance, Anton Siluanov, said that the Russian authorities are currently not planning to nationalize the Russian assets of the Danish concern Carlsberg. On July 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring 100% of the shares “for temporary management” to the Federal Property Management Agency.
“We are not currently planning any nationalizations, we have talked about this,” said Mr. Siluanov (quoted from “Interfax”).
He added that Baltika, which belonged to Carlsberg, is under the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency by analogy “with the decisions made by unfriendly countries.” The Baltika brewing company in Russia owns eight factories; the organization’s revenue in 2022 amounted to 100.7 billion rubles.
In March 2022, Carlsberg announced its decision to leave Russia; on June 23, 2023, the company signed an agreement to sell the business. October 31, Carlsberg CEO Jakob Aarup-Andersen statedthat the Russian authorities “stole the business.” 6311551
