There is a shortage of refrigerated semi-trailers for vehicles in the Russian market, in which food, medicines and other goods that require low temperature conditions are transported. This was reported to Vedomosti by representatives and top managers of several transport and logistics companies, as well as trailer manufacturers. In particular, Delko, Sota Logistic, FM Logistic, Courier Service Express, Marshal Group of Companies, Tonar and other companies spoke about the difficulties with the supply of refrigeration equipment and spare parts for it.
According to Delko, the market for refrigerated trailers in Russia in the pre-crisis period reached 4,000 units. in year. Russia was Europe’s largest semi-trailer market and accounted for 15% in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region. But after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions in the spring of 2022, the volume of imports of equipment began to decline, a Delko representative notes. In 2022, according to him, there were still receipts on the market under existing contracts. “In 2023, there will definitely be no new receipts, and the deficit is already being felt,” the interlocutor explained.
