Russia blocks website of Greenpeace deemed undesirable – Kommersant

The website of the environmental organization Greenpeace, which was previously recognized as undesirable, was blocked on the territory in Russia, Kommersant was convinced. The Prosecutor General’s Office considered that Greenpeace’s environmental activities “are in fact accompanied by the active promotion of a political position, attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the state and are aimed at undermining its economic foundations.”
A branch of Greenpeace in Russia was opened in 1992. The organization was engaged in projects for the separate collection of garbage, the conservation of forests and the extinguishing of forest fires.
