Rusal reduced aluminum exports in January-September by 4.8% – Kommersant

Enterprises of the company “Rusal” (MOEX: RUAL) in the period from January to September 2023 reduced aluminum exports to 2.29 million tons, or by 4.8% compared to the same period last year. The corresponding statistics are presented in the materials of Russian Railways, which are cited by Interfax.
The total volume of aluminum transported by Rusal plants, including shipments across Russia, for the first nine months of the current year remained virtually unchanged and amounted to 2.724 million tons. Transportation of aluminum within Russia increased to 437 thousand tons (+30%). Imports of alumina by the company’s enterprises in January-September increased by 2% year-on-year, to 3.82 million tons.
United Company Rusal is a Russian aluminum company, one of the world’s largest producers of primary aluminum and alumina. At the end of 2022, it produced 3.835 million tons of aluminum. Over the past year, Rusal accounted for 5.6% of global aluminum production. Adjusted net profit of Rusal for the first half of 2023 decreased by 54.3% and amounted to $315 million.
