The press service of Roszdravnadzor reported that there are many vasoconstrictor sprays on the Russian market. The department did not notice a significant increase in prices for them. Earlier, the Mash Telegram channel reported a shortage of drugs for the common cold in Moscow.
“There are a huge number of vasoconstrictor drugs on the market in the form of sprays and drops with different active ingredients, such as xylometazoline, oxymetazoline and others,” reported “RIA News” in the press service of Roszdravnadzor.
The department notes that a large share of these drugs are domestically produced. At the same time, some of the drugs are included in the list of vital and essential drugs, for example, xylometazoline. Their prices are registered and regulated by the state. “Such drugs are produced in huge quantities, are available everywhere, and no significant increase in prices has been observed,” the department added.
However, the department confirmed that prices for individual drugs, not from the list of vital and essential drugs, “may have certain fluctuations,” which does not affect the market, because these drugs are interchangeable. At the same time, Roszdravnadzor assured that if an individual pharmacy unreasonably increases prices for drugs from the list of essential drugs, it can be prosecuted by law.
Today Telegram channel Mash reported, that most metropolitan pharmacies have increased prices for sprays three to four times due to a shortage provoked by a sharp reduction in supplies from abroad and seasonal demand. According to Mash, some sprays now cost not 150–200 rubles, as was previously the case, but 600–900 rubles.
