Rostov winemakers sued Olga Buzova for refusing to be the face of the brand

The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg registered a claim by Global Wine Distribution LLC against Olga Buzova and Archer Music Productions LLC for the recovery of over €1 million for losses incurred by the company due to the withdrawal of consent to use the image and name of a popular Russian TV presenter and singers. This was announced today, April 14, by the joint press service of the city courts.
Earlier, the Rostov-based company Global Wine Distribution (GWD) entered into a license agreement on the use of the Buzwine trademark, according to which Archer Music Productions LLC (founders Tatyana Strelnikova and Olga Buzova’s top manager Aram Archer (Ananyan) to promote alcoholic products using the image of a pop diva.However, in April 2020, GWD received a notification from Ms. Buzova about the withdrawal of this consent.
In his statement, the plaintiff indicates that after that the company was forced to dispose of the products, and for failure to comply with the conditions for the purchase of the volume of products, the Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don in favor of Cheers Beverage Distribution GmbH was fined.
Now GWD is asking the court to recover from the defendants on account of the losses incurred in the amount of €1 million 150 thousand at the exchange rate of the Central Bank on the day of execution of the decision, as well as the costs of disposing of products in the amount of more than 1.5 million rubles.
