The head of Rostourism, Zarina Doguzova, sent letters to tour operators asking them to provide assistance to tourists who fell under the mobilization. She asked them to refund money for such tours and hotel reservations and, if possible, “without withholding the actual costs incurred.”

“I understand the complexity of the situation for business as well, but I ask you to look for solutions that take into account the interests of tourists called up for military service as much as possible,” Ms. Doguzova wrote in her Telegram channel.

Partial mobilization was announced in Russia on 21 September. In less than a day, the Russians bought all the air tickets to Dubai, Yerevan, Astana and Istanbul for the next few days. Head of Rostourism statedthat Russians who have not received a summons from the military registration and enlistment office can freely travel abroad. At the same time, sales of organized tours fell by 35%. The decline is observed both in domestic and foreign directions. Against the backdrop of partial mobilization, Russian resorts are counting on maintaining demand at the expense of women and older tourists.
