Rostec will create a petrochemical holding based on 15 enterprises

On the basis of 15 Russian petrochemical enterprises, a single petrochemical holding will be created. This decision was made by the Supervisory Board of the Rostec State Corporation, informs “Interfax” with reference to the company.
The corporation explained that the purpose of the new holding is import substitution in products for a number of industries, including the aviation industry, medicine and the fuel and energy complex. On the basis of the holding, it is planned to produce self-rescuers for miners, chemical protection suits and other products. It is specified that 4 billion rubles can be allocated for the creation of new industries within the holding.
According to the agency, the new holding will unite 13 enterprises of Roskhimazashchita, as well as the Institute of Plastics. G.S. Petrov and the State Research Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Organoelement Compounds. The parent organization will be Soyuzhimexport, headed by Alexei Stanikin. He will also head the new holding.
Rostec Corporation was established in 2007 and operates in such areas as automotive, aircraft, metallurgy, radio electronics and others. The General Director of the corporation is Sergey Chemezov. Since 2014, Rostec enterprises have been under sectoral US sanctions due to the annexation of Crimea. In 2022, after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, restrictions against the corporation were expanded.
In May Rostec came out from the shareholders of AvtoVAZ and transferred his stake to the subordinated Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Research Automobile and Automotive Institute”. Former experts told Vedomosti reports that the presence of a state corporation under sanctions among the owners of the plant makes it difficult to order foreign components.
