Attacks on the Leonardo air ticket reservation system have resumed, reports press service of the state corporation Rostec.

“They [атаки] coming from the territory of several countries, including Ukraine. At the moment there are minor glitches, but overall the system is holding up confidently thanks to the actions of our specialists,” the message says.

The corporation noted that the goal of the attackers is to stop air transportation in Russia. It is clarified that in recent months the system has been regularly attacked. Five attempts have already been recorded in September, the press service added.

“To repel attacks on the infrastructure of the air ticket reservation system, our own information security team has been deployed. <...> The main task is to prevent a global collapse of the system and transport collapse. We are doing everything possible for this,” the representative office emphasized.

On the morning of September 28, the airline “Aeroflot“, “Russia” and “Pobeda” reported a malfunction in the Leonardo reservation system (a joint development of Rostec and the Sirena-Travel company). Later companies reported about the resumption of the service.

Group “Aeroflot» switched to the domestic Leonardo air ticket booking system in the fall of 2022 after the American Saber and the Spanish Amadeus terminated their distribution relations with Aeroflot in March of the same year.
