The flight to Havana will take 14 hours and 20 minutes, and the cost of one-way tickets starts from 62,000 rubles.
Earlier in an interview with Vedomosti, Aeroflot CEO Sergei Aleksandrovsky remindedthat the decision to launch flights to Cuba was made back in May 2023, the first flight was operated on July 1. Aleksandrovsky also said that Rossiya had already increased the frequency of flights to Varadero from two to three times a week since September.
According to him, the Cuban direction has a positive profitability, but the company is working to improve results. He noted that there is a commercial limitation, according to which the company can fly to Cuba with a load of 85%, and back with a 100% load.
At the end of July, ATOR announced that for January – June 2023 to Cuba arrived more than 67,600 citizens of Russia, which exceeds the figure for the whole of 2022. According to the forecasts of the Russian embassy, at least 100,000 Russians will visit the Caribbean country by the end of this year.
