Rosmorrechflot: the volume of cargo transshipment in seaports in 2022 amounted to about 840 million tons

The volume of transshipment in seaports has recovered to the pre-pandemic level of 2019, the figure amounted to about 840 million tons. About it informs Rosmorrechflot. The increase in the production capacity of seaports in 2022 amounted to 36.64 million tons.

“In terms of the construction of infrastructure in unfavorable foreign economic sanctions conditions, it was possible to prevent the freezing of development projects and continue the construction of all key infrastructure facilities,” the ministry said.

In 2023, the result on the commissioning of seaport capacities should be surpassed, Rosmorrechflot notes.

This year, it is planned to introduce capacities within the framework of four projects:

• an LNG terminal in the Murmansk region with a capacity of 10.4 million tons;
• coal terminal Sukhodol in Primorsky Krai with a capacity of 12 million tons, a universal port terminal in Ust-Luga – 8 million tons;
• project of an LNG transshipment terminal in Bechevinskaya Bay to provide transshipment in the amount of about 11 million tons.

An effective ferry service was organized between the seaports of the Russian Federation and Turkey, the operation of the Kerch ferry crossing was resumed as soon as possible, Rosmorrechflot reports.

It was also possible to ensure the supply of the Kaliningrad region in the conditions of cargo restrictions established by unfriendly countries. The number of ships operating to supply Kaliningrad has been increased from three as of March 2022 to 18 by the end of 2022. A total of almost 58,000 passengers, over 42,000 trucks and about 5,000 railroad cars were transported through the Kerch Strait in both directions.

According to data for the summer, the largest share drop in freight turnover observed in the Caspian due to a decrease in the transshipment of liquid cargo. In the largest basins – the Far East and the Baltic – the decrease in cargo turnover amounted to 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively. The volume of dry cargo transshipment decreased by 5.1%, to 225.8 million tons, while liquid cargo increased by 4.5%, to 256.2 million tons. The backlog from last year has narrowed: in the first half of the year it was 0.5%, in January-April – 2%.

In autumn, the cargo turnover of Russian seaports from January to August inclusive increased by 0.1% year-on-year, to 553.3 million tons. The volume of dry cargo transshipment decreased by 4.9%, to 260.9 million tons, the volume of liquid cargo increased by 4.9%, to 292.4 million tons.

Meanwhile, by increasing funding from the National Wealth Fund to 285 billion rubles. planned significantly expand the program of preferential leasing of ships of the State Transport Leasing Company – by 2030, 346 ships can be delivered to shipowners under it.
