Roskomnadzor sees no reason to unblock Twitter after Musk’s statement

There are still no grounds for unblocking Twitter in Russia, the press service of Roskomnadzor reported. TASS. So the department reacted to the statement of the owner of the social network Elon Musk that Twitter must obey the laws of the country in which it operates.
The billionaire expressed his opinion during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York. He noted that “Twitter has no other choice” because otherwise the social network could be closed.
Roskomnadzor has been slowing down Twitter traffic since March 2021. This was due to the failure to remove information that is prohibited in the Russian Federation. In May of the same year, after removing more than 91% of such information, the restriction was lifted from fixed networks, but it continued to operate for mobile devices. The social network was completely blocked in Russia in March 2022 against the backdrop of the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine.
