Roskomnadzor reported “Interfax”that the blocking of the Patreon and Grammarly platforms is related to the “dissemination of false information by sites” about the special operation.
Patreon is a site for sending creative works for a paid subscription. Grammarly is an online platform through which users can communicate with each other in English.
“Access to resources is limited at the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. The reason for restricting access was the dissemination of unreliable information about the special military operation being carried out by the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine,” Roskomnadzor said.
About website blocking became known August 7. Reportedly “Roskomsvoboda”the reasons for blocking Patreon are the anti-war statements of the Doxa magazine published on February 25 on this platform, Grammarly is a message about the suspension of work in Russia and Belarus.
