In Russia, access to the site for the distribution of creative works through a paid subscription Patreon and the online platform for helping to communicate in English Grammarly have been blocked. These sites are included in the register of Roskomnadzor.
According to “Roskomsvoboda”, the blocking of Patreon is related to the anti-war statement of Doxa magazine, published on February 25 on this platform. The service uses the HTTPS protocol, so the blocking of this statement made the entire site unavailable.
The Patreon service helps to distribute artworks with a special subscription. It is used by artists, bloggers, writers, podcasters, musicians. Fans can follow their Patreon page for priority access to new work. The service has 5 million active visitors per month. It is used by 150 thousand users who create content.
The Grammarly online service was blocked due to a page with a statement that it was suspending work in Russia and Belarus.
Grammarly is an online platform based on artificial intelligence. It helps in communication in English. The platform analyzes the English text and proposes changes to eliminate errors.
Together with Patreon were locked another 102 sites. Including “Arguments and Facts in Ukraine”. Together with Grammarly locked 17 sites, follows from the data of Roskomsvoboda.
