The Federal Air Transport Agency, together with the relevant departments, has developed an additional route for flights of civilian ships to airports in the south of Russia and to international destinations. The route will be opened on June 12, it will reduce flight time by an average of 35 minutes, the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency reported in Telegram.
“An additional route for civil aircraft will be open from June 12, 2023. This will provide an increase in the capacity of the airspace of southern Russia, which will allow airlines to increase the number of flights without using the airspace of Kazakhstan, and also, depending on the destination aerodrome, reduce flight time to an average of 35 minutes,” the Rosaviatsiya said in a statement.
The federal agency clarified that the new route is designed, in particular, for flights to open airports in Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Grozny, Mineralnye Vody, Magas, Makhachkala, Nalchik, Sochi and Stavropol.
Airports in the south and central part of Russia have been closed since the start of the special military operation. We are talking about the airports of Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista. Sochi Airport continues to operate, but after the introduction of restrictions, the flight time from Moscow has increased from two to four hours.
