The Federal Air Transport Agency has increased the number of regional air transportation routes under the subsidy program. The number of subsidized routes has been increased by 26 destinations, up to 303, the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency told Kommersant.

According to the agency, additional subsidy agreements have been signed with Azimut, Ikar, Red Wings, RusLine, North Wind, Utair, UVT Aero and Yamal airlines this year. In addition, the selection for the provision of subsidies in 2023 was passed by the Severstal airline.

The new routes of subsidized air transportation included the following directions: Beloyarsky-Yekaterinburg, Gorno-Altaysk-Kazan, Gorno-Altaysk-Omsk, Gorno-Altaysk-Khanty-Mansiysk, Yekaterinburg-Gorno-Altaysk, Yekaterinburg-Sovetsky, Kazan-Petrozavodsk, Kaliningrad- Orenburg, Magas-Petrozavodsk, Mineralnye Vody-Nadym, Mineralnye Vody-Noyabrsk, Mineralnye Vody-Khanty-Mansiysk, Nizhnevartovsk-Yekaterinburg, Nizhnevartovsk-Tomsk, Nizhny Novgorod-Petrozavodsk, Nizhny Novgorod-Tomsk, Novy Urengoy-Tobolsk, Petrozavodsk-Yekaterinburg, Petrozavodsk-Kaliningrad, Petrozavodsk-Mineralnye Vody, Petrozavodsk-Sochi, Samara-Gorno-Altaysk, Samara-Tobolsk, Surgut-Cheboksary, Syktyvkar-Mineralnye Vody and Khanty-Mansiysk-Kazan.

In 2022, a record 174.2 billion rubles were allocated from the budget to support transportation in Russia. The government also paid airlines almost 100 billion rubles for the transportation of passengers on domestic flights. In January, the head of the Ministry of Transport, Vitaly Savelyev, said that the department plans to “reduce the volume of requested subsidies in proportion to the number of aircraft purchased.” So far, only 25 billion rubles have been allocated for this in the budget.
