Rosaviatsia asked to monitor the behavior and speech of the crew

The Federal Air Transport Agency asked the heads of airlines to monitor the culture of speech and the behavior of pilots and flight attendants, writes “Kommersant” with reference to the letter of the deputy head of the department Dmitry Yadrov.

The letter refers to an increased number of passenger complaints about crew members’ profanity and “improper adherence to procedures”. As an example of such behavior, the agency cited a video on the network in which the pilot is trying to turn off the radio, “not embarrassed in terms.”

As the commander of the A-320 Aeroflot Andrey Litvinov explained to the publication, this video is fake. The microphone mute button, which the pilot is “looking for” in the video, cannot be “lost”: in order to broadcast over the speakerphone to the passenger compartment, it is necessary to hold the mute button throughout the entire message transmission. Pilot instructor Aleksey Kochemasov, in turn, pointed out that the inspectors “had extra free time,” since such incidents with a speakerphone became impossible, regardless of the type of vessel.

The Federal Air Transport Agency asked the airlines to “conduct additional classes” with crew members, rechecking their knowledge of typical phraseology when providing information services to passengers. This must be submitted by January 16th.

Aeroflot said that checks on the level of communication between crew members and passengers are mandatory and are carried out regularly, while Rossiya pointed out that all texts of information messages exclude the use of “unspecified vocabulary and own wording” by crew members. At the same time, Pobeda noted that “a certain amount of freedom and friendliness” in communicating with customers is allowed. They cited as an example the case when the pilot, notifying about the temperature overboard at minus 50 degrees, asked passengers not to open the windows – this joke caused “a flurry of positive feedback in the form of feedback.”

The source of the publication in one of the airlines, in turn, drew attention to the fact that in the cockpits of the pilots of their Boeing, the communication buttons with the dispatcher and with passengers are located nearby, so they are easy to confuse.
