What is ZAES
ZNPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, it is located on the banks of the Kakhovka reservoir in the Zaporozhye region, where a referendum on joining Russia was held at the end of September. The capacity of each of the six VVER-1000 power units is 1 GW. ZNPP annually generates about 40 billion kWh, before it provided a fifth of Ukraine’s electricity needs. After the transfer of the station under the control of Russia, the Rosatom structure established the “Operating Organization of the Zaporizhzhya NPP” with an authorized capital of 2 billion rubles.
