Roman Trotsenko sold a controlling stake in AEON – Kommersant

Roman Trotsenko sold a 69% stake in AEON Corporation, reported RBC in company. The corporation clarified that 36% was bought by AEON CEO Dmitry Mironenko, and 33% was bought by the head of the group’s coal division, Alexander Orekhov. Mr. Orekhov will now take the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the corporation, AEON added.

According to the publication, Mr. Trotsenko, after the sale of a controlling stake, remained with a 31% stake in the company; he will leave the board of directors of the corporation. AEON stated that the balance sheet of the company in which the transaction took place includes all the coal assets of the corporation – Severnaya Zvezda, Vorkuta-Ugol, Vostok-Ugol, as well as real estate assets. At the same time, the chemical assets of AEON and the Novaport holding were not included in the deal. The deal is valued at 20 billion rubles, payment will be made in installments, the company reported.

AEON stated that Mr. Trotsenko reduced his stake in the corporation due to the desire to concentrate on charity in the field of development of the urban environment and education. The company recalled that, on the initiative of the billionaire, master plans for the modernization of a number of cities were developed, including Mendeleevsk (Tatarstan), Kemerovo and Vorkuta (Komi). He is a member of the board of trustees of the Letovo boarding school and the board of directors of the Skolkovo school of management.

Mr. Trotsenko founded the corporation in 2007. The group includes companies in housing and industrial construction, river transport, airport management, as well as assets in a number of other industries. In 2021, AEON took 193rd place with revenue of 51 billion rubles. in the ranking of the 200 largest companies in Russia according to Frobes. In November, AEON and its subsidiaries hit under US sanctions.
