“This is a biological pattern”
Soviet and Russian rock musician, leader of the group “St. Petersburg” Vladimir Rekshan, in a conversation with a correspondent of “MK”, responded to the death of the co-founder of the legendary “Alice” Andrei Shatalin.
Rekshan called the departure of older generation musicians a “biological pattern”, calling for preserving the memory of them:
– A generation is leaving – now Shatalin. Sooner or later everyone will leave – this is a biological law. So that the memory of them does not go away along with people, I am working on the Museum of Russian Rock Music. On October 2, he unveiled a memorial plaque to the Leningrad rock club. And that means, by the way, Andrei Shatalin as a bright figure of this musical phenomenon.
Let us recall that today the Alice group succinctly announced the death of its co-founder, indicating the dates of life with a mournful note: “04/06/1960—11/13/2023. Kingdom of Heaven.”
Let us recall that in August 1981, Shatalin’s student group “Democritus Well” was accepted into the LenRockClub. There were only two years left until Andrei Germanovich became the founder of “Alice”, with whom he played until 2003.
